The majority of our undergraduate part-time tuition fees are charged on a credit point basis. Details can be found here.
If a fee amount is detailed as a ‘cost per credit’ the cost of the course can be calculated as follows:
| Multiply the cost per credit (£) x the number of credit points for an undergraduate degree |
The price per credit point is different for EU students and non-EU students. Fees are reviewed annually, and increases should be expected. Current fees information can be found here.
A credit is a unit of academic measurement. Our undergraduate programmes are made up of a series of modules. Each module has a number of credits. The credit point weighting per module for your chosen course can be found here. An award is given when the required amount of credit points have been achieved.
All students are required to pay an annual tuition fee. This fee includes charges for registration, tuition, supervision and examination and is payable for each year, or part of the year for which the student is registered. There are a number of flexible options which can help you pay for your course:
The Fees payment policy document outlines the options available in detail.
Guidance notes are available here.
Should you have any queries about the costs, payment methods, etc of our course please contact us.
Part-time undergraduate students, who do not already have a degree and are studying at least 50% of an equivalent full-time course, may be eligible for a grant.
The grant is in two parts, neither of which has to be repaid:
The grant is means-tested and will depend on your income and that of your spouse/partner (if applicable). The threshold below which a single student (who has no dependent children) can qualify for the full support is £16,090. For those students with spouses/partners and/or dependent children the threshold is higher. Your Education and Library Board will work out how much financial support you can get.
The table below sets out the maximum fee grant* and course grant you might get, depending in the intensity of your course in comparison to full-time study.
